The REALTORS® as Neighbors Foundation is a granting organization focused on:

– Homeowner assistance

– Natural disaster relief

– Homebuyer education

– Community relief

What you can expect from the typical application process:

We can only accept grant applications that benefit one or more of our mission areas. Funds are provided without expectation of repayment. In addition to completing the application in it’s entirety, the application should be accompanied with as much supporting information as possible to fully express the needs of the applicant.

For Homeowner Grant Applications, you can expect this process:

  1. APPLICATION: Fully complete the application with supporting documentation
  2. DELIBERATION: Application shall be reviewed at the next monthly board meeting, with consideration for deadlines and urgent circumstances. 
  3. CLARIFICATION: Additional supporting documentation may be requested from the applicant, and will be required to be submitted within 20 days.
  4. DECISION: Final determination will be made by a vote of the Board of Directors within 90 days of application, and relayed to the applicant.
  5. PAYMENT: If approved, funds will be available within 30 days of the final decision. Funds are typically paid directly to the vendor, organization, or rarely the applicant at the sole discretion of the Foundation.

For Downpayment Assistance Grants, you can expect this process:

  1. APPLICATION: Fully complete the application.
  2. DECISION: Application shall be reviewed, clarified and decided (by lottery) within 30 days at the monthly board meeting. 
  3. PAYMENT: If approved, funds will be available at closing. Funds are typically paid directly to the title company at the sole discretion of the Foundation.

Grant Programs:

Homeowner Grants

This program is intended to help individual homeowners assist with natural disaster relief, homebuyer education services, homeowner assistance, or community relief organizations.

Organizational Grants

This grant is intended to help 501(c)(3) organizations with natural disaster relief, homebuyer education services, homeowner assistance, or community relief organizations, up to $2000.

Downpayment Assistance

These $1000 grants are intended to help homeowners with downpayment assistance. One application is awarded each month, and awards are selected by lottery to households with less than 100% (or $95,600) annual income.
